Shearwater Country Club was originally built in 1964 as a private club by a consortium of businessmen.

Initially the club blossomed, but after several years, the consortium decided to sell out to private investors who then established the Shearwater Country Club as a Hotel / Motel open to the general public.

The Country Club has seen many changes over the years but a major change took place with the establishment of a Time-share program introduced to the Resort in 1984.

The Resort Complex, since 1984 has advanced from 32 motel units to 49 fully self-contained units today.

Resort facilities include a 9 hole golf course, indoor heated pool, spa, sauna, gym, bikes, tennis and half court tennis and many other facilities.

Shearwater Country Club is a fully sold out time-share resort resulting in a membership of over 2000 members.

The nature of the time-share allows members to purchase time-share in weekly intervals.

Time-share allows members to either holiday at the Resort, place their interval in the rental pool or exchange their time for time in other time-share resorts. The exchange program sees many interstate and overseas visitors visit the Resort.
